Rumah Coklat - Chocolate Trees Surrounding the Villa

Bali Mountain Villas is privately owned and operated by two wonderful and well traveled Australians. Over several years they have lovingly decorated Rumah Coklat, named after the numerous chocolate trees surrounding, as their personal holiday home which they are now making available to guests. Nearby, they have recently built another totally separate villa housing staff kitchen, office, verandah and extra accommodation. This ensures total privacy for their guests who stay in Rumah Coklat.

Where is Bali Mountain Villa

Rumah Coklat is a completely private, self-contained villa on the slopes of tranquil Mt. Batukaru in Tabanan District Bali. The famous Pura Batukaru one of Bali most important temples, is located within walking distance from the villa (2 hours return). Rumah Coklat offers self-catering or meals made by our housekeeper, queen bed plus twin/queen and two en-suite bedrooms. It is perfectly situated to provide a private retreat to enjoy the fantastic sunsets over Gunung Batukaru and sunrises behind Mt Agung in the distance.

While there is an infinite range of activities and experiences awaiting you beyond the walls of Rumah Coklat, you may find that you simply wish to stay and relax. We look forward to sharing our piece of paradise with you – we know it will be an experience you will never forget.

This private compound is set in a remote area offering access to jungle. It is located over 2000 feet (600 meters) above sea level and has a temperate climate all year. Guests may require light warm clothing during the evenings in June to October. There are jungle walks, temple visits and day tours to Ubud, Lovina and local villages, massage and cooking lessons available.

There is no public transport. However, cars with drivers are available at very reasonable rates from the Bali Mountain Retreat . One of the best aspects of Rumah Coklat is its remote location. Tourist lined streets do not exist here and driving up the mountain road is an adventure in itself! We suggest you contact the Bali Mountain Retreat for pick up and return as navigating by yourself can be a challenge.

Remote Village of Sarinbuana

Bali Mountain Villas’ remote location and the opportunity to be part of a rural Balinese community offer a unique experience. Sarinbuana is a Balinese village with long undulating rice fields in every direction at lower elevations and jungle higher up. It is an idyllic place for your holiday in Bali. Sarinbuana is 90-120 minutes from the airport, 70 minutes from trendy Seminyak and 45 minutes from Tabanan the nearest large town.

A Mini Paradise

Rumah Coklat is a mini paradise and upon arrival you’ll be amazed at the vegetation that surrounds the property. In Bali, plants and flowers grow large and beautiful filled with life and color. Rumah Coklat has its own driveway and parking area, fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge, relaxing bedrooms and elegant bathrooms! The floor space is 126m².

Waking at sunrise in the tropics is a special experience and from the balcony at Rumah Coklat you will see the morning haze wafting over the jungle canopy with Mt Batukaru peak so close and Mt Agung in the distance. The sounds of nature and when the mist creeps in at night create a mystical paradise.
